Employee Assistance Programme
Therapy Support for Small Businesses
Looking to Support the Wellbeing of Your Staff?
As a small business owner, you may recognise the impact that stress, burnout, anxiety and other mental health challenges can have on both employees and the workplace. Deloitte UK (2024) estimates that poor mental health costs UK employers around £51 billion each year through sickness absence, reduced productivity and staff turnover.

Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers small businesses access to professional talking therapy for members of their team. Whether somebody is struggling with stress, anxiety, workplace pressures, bereavement, relationship difficulties or other challenges affecting their wellbeing, therapy can provide a confidential space for reflection, support and change.

We aim to offer a straightforward and accessible service without the complexity often associated with larger EAP providers.
Our Therapists
We work with a network of independent Associate Therapists who are committed to providing safe, ethical and professional support.

All therapists within the service are either qualified practitioners or advanced trainees who have completed their placement requirements and have been endorsed by their clinical supervisor to work independently.

Every therapist -Â

-Receives regular clinical supervision
-Is a member of a recognised professional body such as UKCP, BACP or an equivalent organisation
-Holds professional indemnity insurance
-Maintains an up-to-date DBS certificate
-Works in line with GDPR and confidentiality legislation
-Adheres to their professional ethical framework

Our aim is to ensure that employees receive support from therapists who are well trained, appropriately supported and committed to maintaining high professional standards.
Why Choose Debbie Thomson Therapy?
Debbie Thomson Therapy is a small, local practice based in East Yorkshire. Rather than operating as a large national provider, we offer a more personal and community-focused approach.

We believe that the quality of therapy matters. Good therapeutic work depends upon therapists having the time, support and resources to do their job well. For that reason, we aim to work differently from many larger EAP providers by offering rates that more closely reflect therapists' usual fees. This helps create a sustainable service that values the expertise of the professionals delivering support.

Choosing Debbie Thomson Therapy means working with a local business that is passionate about supporting both employee wellbeing and the wider therapy community. It allows businesses to provide meaningful mental health support for their staff while investing in services rooted within their local area.
