Proffesional Background
The beginnings of my Journey Into Psychotherapy
Following many years of personal psychotherapy, I knew my dream was to become a psychotherapist. At age 30, I ended my career as a hairdresser, took a part-time mental health support worker role within the NHS, and enrolled onto a psychology degree. During this time, I also founded a charitable organisation supporting individuals affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
Discovering My Areas of Passion
After leaving university, I worked for over five years in a specialist Eating Disorder service. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and developed a deep passion for this area of work. I later moved into the voluntary sector, managing a project that supported emotional wellbeing within schools. This gave me valuable insight into the struggles young people face and the impact these challenges can have as they move into adulthood. I found working with young people incredibly rewarding.
Supporting Those Who Support Others
A few years later, I became the manager of an Eating Disorder charity, a role I held until March 2023. I loved this work and used my experience, knowledge, and passion to support and empower colleagues in providing high-quality care to those accessing the service.
Living the Dream
When I reflect on my career and see where I am now, I often have a real 'pinch me' moment. I am living the dream I discovered so many years ago, a dream that at times I wasn’t sure I would ever achieve.

Being in a position where a client shares their story and feels safe enough to express their vulnerability is, quite simply, a privilege. Supporting people in this way is what makes this work so meaningful and continues to inspire me every day.
Establishing My Private Practice
In 2023, I qualified as a therapist and established my private practice, bringing together the experience I had gained across the NHS and charity settings. In early 2026, I qualified as a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, adding a specialist approach for working with couples and other relationship partnerships.

Alongside my clinical practice, I am an Associate Trainer in TA Counselling and Psychotherapy, supporting the training and development of future therapists. I am also developing my own training programmes, specialising in eating and body distress and female hormone conditions due to launch 2027.Â
